heyo! ive got some updates on this piece for the feb15 show in fremont :> tbh i feel kinda weird chronicling my artistic process on the internet, but i feel better doing it like this rather than anywhere else, besides i think itll be an interesting record to have, and maybe itll force me to re-analyze my work in a different light in the future if i have the steps i took to create it recorded as well yk?
either way! i got a new camera to use for this project! huge shoutout to will for giving me one of his 4×5 studio cams that he wasnt using, its a gorgeous calumet and ill be shooting darkroom paper in it for this project. ive also got one canvas coated in cyan thats exposing right now:
my cyan setup is super jank but hey, it works lol, i love improvised cardboard structures
and this is smthn i made messing around with charcoal the other night – u might be able to call it a study for kinda how i want this piece to present, but at any rate it was fun and it was a medium i havent used before – straight charcoal from the fire pit, charcoal mixed with galkyd medium, gold gilding paint, and pen :3
